Every part of the body has its own description and structure. All the parts of the body have a different structure and they all are created in a different way. Skin is also one of the most important and vital part of the body. It is not only the skin that has more than one layer, but the layers of skin also consist of a number of sub layers as well.
Epidermis is the most outer layer of the skin. It is the layer that we usually see when we look at the body of any human body. Epidermis is the main barrio between the inner structure of the body and the outside world. The epidermis is made up of keratinocytes, melanocytes, and Langerhans cells. Epidermis is composed of a number of layers. Epidermis acts as boundary, while the dermis has all the equipment, like nerve, sweat glands, and hair follicles etc. Stratum corneum is outermost layer of dead cells having a protein, called keratin. The living layer, Malpighian has a type of cells called melanocyte. Melanocyte produces melanin, which is a pigment. It is a source of tanning. Another extra layer in the epidermis is called lucidum. All the cells, that are present in the epidermis, move through the layers of the epidermis. Dermis is another layer that is below the epidermis. The dermis is made up of mostly connective tissue. Dermis is also a very important part of the skin and this layer has so many important functions. Dermis works as a fence against destruction and harm to the skin. The different levels of the skin work together and allow the skin to perform a number of functions. The color of the skin is attributed to reddish pigment in the blood of the superficial vessels, and the pigment produced by melanocyte. |
